Adding members

Before you can start sending invoices or creating Pings, you first need to add your members to your club. Payzip makes this really easy, and gives you a number of ways to do this.

Adding members individually

If you only have a few members to add, you may find it easier to add them individually. All you need is a name and an email address for each member.

Members can have the same email address as another member in the club.

To get started, click the + button in the bottom right hand corner and select Add members.

Alternatively, click Members in the sidebar and then Add members in the top right hand corner.

When prompted, you can start typing in the names and email addresses of your members one by one. You can also add each member to a group if you want to. If the group doesn’t exist, you can add it right here too.

When you have entered the details of all your members, click Add members to add them to your club.

Importing members from a spreadsheet

If you have lots of members to add (and you already have them listed on a spreadsheet), you may find it easier to import them. As long as each row in the spreadsheet has a name and email associated with the member, you’ll be all set.

We can even recreate any groups that you have for each member if they are also listed on the spreadsheet.

The format of the spreadsheet must be either Excel or CSV.

To get started, click the + button in the bottom right hand corner and select Import members.

Alternatively, click Members in the sidebar and then Import in the top right hand corner.

When prompted, you can either drag your spreadsheet into the bordered section, or click the same area to choose your file from its location.

If you have no members in your club, you can also do the same thing from the members index, although this option will disappear when you have added some members.

As soon as you upload your spreadsheet, you will be shown the first 8 rows of the spreadsheet.

Next you will need to select which columns to import. We strip out empty rows and unnecessary columns, but make sure you have at selected at least the following columns:

  • Full name (or First name and Last name in separate columns);
  • Email (members can have the same email address as another member in the club);
  • Group (optional).

Once you are happy with your selections, click Import rows and your members will be imported into your club (and any groups created) in a matter of seconds.
